Where to order Adjustable Height Tent Poles

Recently, I purchased four TexSport adjustable height tent poles from  Amazon. These TexSport  telescoping tent poles adjust from a four foot height to an eight foot height. The tent poles have hardware, for extending and adjusting the poles, at two separate telescoping segments. Some adjustable height tent poles, that we have purchased in the past, do not seem nearly as sturdy as these new ones. We will be trying them out this week, while camping, and be able to evaluate them.

Cabella's has a variety of adjustable height or telescoping tent poles available on line or you can find adjustable height tent poles at Amazon, Sears, Eureka, Coleman, eBay and Bass Pro Shop. Some ship free to the store for pick-up. Amazon ships to your home free with a minimum purchase.

Walmart has Coleman adjustable height tent poles, Coleman steel tent stakes, tie-down lines and rope tension adjusters. Not all stores stock them, but they are available online with free shipping to your local store.
We have used Coleman adjustable height tent poles for many years. They do require some maintenance, or they will get surface rust. Be sure to disassemble and dry off the sections. Lightly sand off any surface rust and store in separated segments, in a dry place. They are inexpensive so buy a few extra ones. We use our oldest poles when we know there will be high winds and heavy rain, and save the newer ones when the forecast is better. Because each pole has three graduated sections, we have bent the narrowest top section in severe rain storms. Humid environments or after a rainy weekend requires maintenance because they are stainless steel.

Update: We now have purchased Eureka Aluminum poles, which come in longer lengths, and a wider diameter. We have had our Avion for many years now, and needed the extra height for our taller awning rail. Over the years we have discovered that many campsites are not level. So having tent poles with some extra length, to handle the uneven ground, would have come in handy even with our small trailer.
