This week I am working on a 16' x 8' Airstream awning, plus a 10' x 8' awning made out of the same Clinton Granite marine grade awning fabric by Sunbrella.

Trying to get as much done as I am able to, before leaving for our Family Vacation, which was scheduled quite a while ago.

Like many of you, we will be celebrating Independence Day on the 4th of July.

Orange VW Bus Awning Is Ready To Mail

Boxed up the orange VW Bus Arched Awning today.
The Westfalia Bus Awning attaches to the rain gutter, just past the cab door, and extends toward the end of the VW Bus. This one is 7' along the bus, and edged with Sunbrella Natural Braid Trim on the scalloped valances.
I have Sunbrella Sunflower Yellow  for a custom order.

The Awning Lady - All In A Day's Work!

Being the owner and operator, of Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi, I have a variety of jobs to accomplish during any given day. With three awnings in progress, I documented just some of today's projects.
Today for example:

Pre-Made, Ready To Mail, Awning For Sale Link 

I spayed the fringe and hung it out to dry on my front porch.
The solution waterproofs, prevents mildew, and provides UV protection against fading and rotting. Sunbrella marine grade awning fabric already has an expected 10 years of protection. However not the fringe, which will need repeated treatments over the years.

Out on my back porch, I sprayed the VW Bus hardware with Liquid Plastic, to prevent scratches.

In my dining room, I have the Black Taupe Fancy Stripe Sunbrella being measured and cut out for a 7 1/2 x 8 awning

Overflowing into my living area, I have the shock poles made and extended out on my coffee table, plus the fabric for the next two awnings laying across my love seat. 

                          Boxes still need to be made.

Another part for the VW Bus Arched Awning is completed.
Included in my day, I have answered awning questions, updated my Blog, plus my Facebook page. I also un-packaged and stored away business supplies that arrived in the mail. I didn't sew at all today, but I will start fresh again tomorrow.

                      Now it is time for a coffee break!

Thread colors used are Dark Ruby Red and Rosey Beige, with Sunbrella Plum braid trim on the scalloped valances. I believe Dusty Rose, like the chair cushion is the closest color shade.

Shock poles tested to fit this awning

Pockets are formed in the facings on the underside, for the shock poles.

The Beaufort Ember Arched Awning is now For Sale. It is boxed in a medium flat rate USPS priority mail box, which ships for $18.00 with insurance in USA. The shock poles are boxed in a triangular tube 38" x 6" x 6" girth 17" Weight 3 pounds 5 ounces. It will be a different shipping cost, depending on how far from 30236 zip code your shipping address is. Neighboring states about $11.50, where as out West is more like $20.00.

Inventory Arched Awning in Beaufort Ember.Sold It is kind of a Dusty Rose color. Thread colors used were Rosey Beige and Dark Ruby Red. (See Dusty Rose cushion in background) Decided a Plum Sunbrella edge binding looked the best on the scalloped valances.

          These are my goals to complete this week. 
Last week was interrupted by the arrival of 1,000 yards of Sunbrella marine grade awning fabric, which needed to be unloaded and put away. Most of the rolls are now in the basement storage area, so that huge job is almost completed.
