Recently in 2021 I finished several VW Bus awnings. I make my VW Bus awnings with pockets for shock poles. When the shock poles are inserted into the pockets, they swing upward arching the awning. This provides extra height underneath and incline for rain run off.

7 1/2' x 7 1/2' attaches to rain gutter with a variety of different types of connectors. Placed in the rain gutter, behind the cab door and extends toward end of the bus.

Because Many VW Bus shows are set up on concrete or hard packed soil, the shock poles provide the tension for a taut awning. Weighted tie-down lines, to help prevent the wind from flipping the awning, are still recommended. dfoster@bellsouth.net
