Expect Consistency in Details, Design, and Workmanship

You can order a custom made Vintage Trailer Awning by Kristi, with confidence and assurance, knowing that the details, design, and workmanship, have remained consistent throughout the years.
The high quality standards have not been compromised, the fabric continues to be marine grade 100% acrylic awning fabric, appropriate for the project. A one owner, one operator, small home business, that still makes custom vintage trailer awnings with old- time craftsmanship.
Although there are easier, less expensive ways to make an awning, my customers expect to see, and appreciate the unique differences, in Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi.

A Charming Job Title

As many of you already know, "The Awning Lady" has been on my business cards, my Blogs, and my Google profile descriptions for  many years. I have even written a short story entitled  The Awning Lady. It is what I have always been called at vintage trailer rallies, have claimed, and accepted as a charming job title. I have always been and will continue to be The Awning Lady.

The Value Is Obvious To The Educated Consumer

Have you researched the retail price per yard of marine grade awning fabric lately? Have you compiled a supply list, and calculated the cost of purchasing the necessary weather resistant supplies for making a vintage trailer awning? Have you considered the type of sewing machine necessary to power through heavy awning fabric using thick, weather resistant, thread? Do you  know how to install a grommet? Do you know how to mange the weight and bulk of the awning fabric while sewing? How valuable is your time? After answering  these questions, you may want to reconsider attempting to make your own awning! The value of a Vintage Trailer Awning by Kristi, will become more apparent, once you have become an educated consumer. By purchasing my awning supplies in large quantities, I am able to greatly reduce the cost per yard of the fabric, plus save on bulk shipping,  thereby passing the savings on to my customers.
Yes, you do have to consider the cost of labor. However, every year, I am contacted by someone who purchased fabric, planning to make their own awning, and now are in a dilemma. They either bought the wrong type of fabric, not enough fabric, or decided they didn't have a clue what they were doing. 54" wide fabric is outdoor upholstery fabric, not intended for awnings, but rather for outdoor furniture and pillows. It generally is only vibrant on one side, and is not 9.25 weight for strength and durability.
So, consider the obvious value of a professionally made, quality constructed, Vintage Trailer Awning by Kristi                                 Contact me at  dfoster@bellsouth.net

Leave The Craftsmanship Up To Me

Relax and leave the craftsmanship up to me, The Awning Lady. You can have confidence in the quality of the workmanship, from my many years of awning making experience. Expect the best; knowing that I only use marine grade awning fabric that is equally vibrant on both sides of the woven fabric, is resistant to rain, stain, tears, mildew, plus is a breathable fabric for comfortable air flow, will not crack along fold lines like vinyl, and has UV protection against harmful radiation, fading and rotting. Also know that your awning will be sewn with weather resistant, strong, #69 Nylon thread, which will not deteriorate from exposure to the elements.  Even the custom made edge binding, on the scalloped valances, is marine grade awning fabric. So leave your worries behind, and let me create a custom vintage trailer awning that you can enjoy for years to come. Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi

Selecting A Pattern For A Vintage Trailer Awning

Selecting a striped fabric pattern, for your custom vintage trailer awning, can be a difficult process. Help is available! If you need advice selecting a pattern from my inventory of marine grade awning fabric, to coordinate with your trailer's color scheme, just ask. I will be happy to offer suggestions.  Pictures of your trailer's exterior and interior are helpful, if you would like to email them to me "The Awning Lady" at dfoster@bellsouth.net.  My inventory is constantly changing. I may have  striped patterns in colors that aren't pictured on my Blog. By knowing the size of the awning you need, I can determine if I have enough yardage.

Pink Glampers Take A Look!

I am constantly getting requests for pink striped awnings. I finally found a Sattler Marine Grade Awning Fabric with a pink background color. It is Sattler pattern #364-643. The darker shade closely resembles BEHR paint card color Cinnamon Cherry S-H-140. I have placed a pale pink jacket, a two tone pink Santa Hat, and multiple  vintage Christmas ornaments in a variety of shades of pink for color comparison. As with any color, computer monitors do not accurately depict shades. Be sure to look at the paint color card in Lowes or Home depot to be sure the colors do not clash with your trailer paint. The following pictures have been taken under different lighting conditions to try to give you a better idea of the pattern colors. Happy Glamping, Kristi

Update 2016: After selling over 90 yards of this pattern, I only have enough for a 6' rail x 7' awning and maybe one other small awning.

Pictures from the Glamping Forum Rally in Georgia

Enjoy the pictures from the http://www.glampingforum.com rally that was held at Stone Mountain Family Campground in Georgia. We started out with 70 degree temperatures, followed by a gale force wind that brought in the rain which dropped the temperature into the 40's. It didn't dampen our holiday spirits though! The enclosed pavilion had a toasty fire going for the pot-luck dinner and ugly Christmas sweater contest, plus the gift exchange, ornament exchange and other social activities were held there too. The weather cooperated for viewing the vintage trailers and taking pictures.

Images of Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi from 2013

Represented are some images of Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi. These pictures were sent to be shared on my Vintage Awnings Blog. Pictured are only a few of the many rope and pole awnings that I made during 2013. I usually average 55 awnings each year, and 2013 exceeded that expectation.
If you have a picture of a Vintage Trailer Awning by Kristi you would like to be included, email it to me at  dfoster@bellsouth.net .

Striped Sattler Awning Fabric Has Arrived

 Update 2019:
Link To 2019 Sunbrella marine grade awning fabric patterns, and some Pre-Made, Ready to Mail, Inventory Vintage Trailer Awnings for sale

Update: My 2018 Sunbrella marine grade awning fabric is now being unloaded. 2018 Sunbrella Patterns
Click patterns link to see current fabric available.
This post is over 5 years old, but I have updated the pattern selections for those of you who keep finding it in searches.

I have been busy unloading my bulk order of Sattler Awning Fabric. I unroll a section, take pictures, and cut off an end piece to show, as samples at the vintage trailer rallies I will be attending. Because computer monitors do not accurately depict colors, I find BEHR paint sample cards that closely resemble the color hues in the awning fabric patterns. You can view the cards at Lowes, Home Depot, or your local paint store that stocks BEHR paints. Sattler awning fabric is equally vibrant on both sides, is 47" wide, made of 100% acrylic fabric, is resistant to rain, stain, tears, mildew, fading, provides protection against harmful UV rays, and is a breathable fabric allowing for comfortable air flow. If you see a pattern that you like, email me at dfoster@bellsouth.net   with your awning rail length and the pattern #, so I can give you an estimate. Here is what I have so far, more rolls are still on their way. I will be adding card numbers to pictures or will give them to you upon inquiry.

Some of these patterns are still available in limited sizes.
See the new shipment that arrived in April 2014 for a different variety of patterns.
