How To Survive Severe Thunderstorms While Camping at Riverbend

Between cloud bursts, I was able to take a few pictures while at the   Around The Riverbend Rally.
Some people used the Tee-Pee affect to handle the heavy rain flow.

Some people added an extension rod near their trailer door, to raise the awning height, when the rain came down by the bucket load!

With many tent poles supporting their Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi, they quickly removed the center poles for the funnel effect, when the heavy rain poured down.

A neighbor came to the rescue, one day while they were away, when an unexpected deluge arrived. A good plan is to either Tee-Pee or graduate your tent poles when leaving your camp-site.
The Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi Arched Awning's shock poles created incline for quick rain run-off
The Pop-Up stayed anchored with tent stakes, but leaked. They will be returning it for a refund!

Some campers chose not to set up their awnings at all, anticipating sever weather.
The little Airstream next to us had a framed awning, and experienced no problems.

(Not A Vintage Trailer Awning by Kristi) The Weblon Awning on a slight tilt weathered the storms .

Here are some other trailers which attended the Rally.

Between Vacation and Babysitting

During this small window of opportunity: Before I leave again to babysit my grandchildren, I have a small Cooper Navy awning to make, finish an 8' x 8' Manhattan Fog arched awning with shock poles, start a 15' x 8' Sapphire Vintage, plus an 8' x 8' Baycrest Pacific or Clinton Granite. (still deciding)

Added a 7' x 7' order in Baycrest Pacific. Then will be making a 6' x 6' Inventory Awning from the remaining fabric.

Having not had a chance to even unroll many patterns that arrived, I have been inspecting the fabric and measuring it out as inquires come in.

I also relisted some of my Pre-Made, Ready To Mail Awnings on eBay this week. Update: All but one, of the Pre-Made awnings have sold. 10' x 8' Colonnade Current remains available.

A very busy 10 days, but my aim is to please!

Then a Cooper Navy small awning is

next in line.

Trying to get as much done as I am able to, before leaving for our Family Vacation, which was scheduled quite a while ago.
Like many of you, we will be celebrating Independence Day on the 4th of July.
Then my birthday too.

Orange VW Bus Awning Is Ready To Mail

Boxed up the orange VW Bus Arched Awning today.
The Westfalia Bus Awning attaches to the rain gutter, just past the cab door, and extends toward the end of the VW Bus. This one is 7' along the bus, and edged with Sunbrella Natural Braid Trim on the scalloped valances.
I have Sunbrella Sunflower Yellow  for a custom order.

The Awning Lady - All In A Day's Work!

Being the owner and operator, of Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi, I have a variety of jobs to accomplish during any given day. With three awnings in progress, I documented just some of today's projects.
Today for example:

Pre-Made, Ready To Mail, Awning For Sale Link
I spayed the fringe and hung it out to dry on my front porch.
The solution waterproofs, prevents mildew, and provides UV protection against fading and rotting. Sunbrella marine grade awning fabric already has an expected 10 years of protection. However not the fringe, which will need repeated treatments over the years.
Out on my back porch, I sprayed the VW Bus hardware with Liquid Plastic, to prevent scratches.
In my dining room, I have the Black Taupe Fancy Stripe Sunbrella being measured and cut out for a 7 1/2 x 8 awning

Overflowing into my living area, I have the shock poles made and extended out on my coffee table, plus the fabric for the next two awnings laying across my love seat.

Boxes still need to be made.
Another part for the VW Bus Arched Awning is completed.
Included in my day, I have answered awning questions, updated my Blog, plus my Facebook page. I also un-packaged and stored away business supplies that arrived in the mail. I didn't sew at all today, but I will start fresh again tomorrow.
Now it is time for a coffee break!
