What Is Different About An Arched Vintage Trailer Awning?

 Right from the start, arched vintage trailer  awnings are made differently from traditional flat trailer awnings.

 Arched Vintage Trailer Awnings have pockets formed in the facings that surround the underside of the awning. The shock poles cross and seat into the corner pockets. dfoster@bellsouth.net

Arched vintage camper awnings have a tie strap centered on the underside, to keep the shock poles from sliding out of position.

In the front corners of an arched vintage trailer awning, the pockets are hidden in the facings, so when using the awning without the shock poles the differences aren't noticeable.

Measuring the shock poles, for each individual arched vintage trailer awning, is always a challenge. 

The shock poles need to be just the right length to arch the awning upward providing extra height underneath and incline for rain run off. dfoster@bellsouth.net

An arched vintage trailer awning, is suitable for the straight / level section of a c-channel  awning rail. The largest arched awnings that I make are the 8' x 8'size.

Sunbrella Americana will be an arched awning which has shock poles for extra height underneath and incline for rain run-off. dfoster@bellsouth.net

Springtime brings strong winds and heavy rain, so think about adding some springs to you tie-down lines. The longer, steel tent stakes grip the deeper level of top soil, when the top layer gets soggy from the rain

When the rain is pouring, and the winds are blowing at gale force, I lower all of the tent poles, and add bungee cords over the grommets, to keep the awning from slipping over the tent pole tips. Lowering all of the adjustable height tent poles, allows for quick rain run off during a downpour.

 Spring 2022: I am in the process of making a 15' x 8' Airstream Awning using Sunbrella Saxon Cascade.

Also in progress are five Airstream Clip-On window awnings for the push or crank out type of awning windows.

This is a typical crank out, or push out, type of awning window with squared corners and without rubber seals on the underside of the frame. I have made awnings for this type of window in the past.

This time, the windows had rounded corners and rubber seals were attached underneath the window frame. So I made a prototype to try out, before I made the other four clip on window awnings.

What Inventory Camper Awning Is In The Works Today? 12' x 8' Awning For Sale

Expecting snow in Georgia over the next few days. Where did Spring go? Anyway, I have been forging ahead making Inventory Vintage Trailer Awnings for Spring camping 2022. So, if you are looking for a Pre-Made, Ready-To-Mail, vintage camper awning for sale, keep checking back. Right now, I am working on a 12' Kiawah Spa vintage RV awning. I rarely make this size in Inventory awnings, mostly concentrate on 7 1/2', 8', and 10' awnings.I had just enough Kiawah Spa fabric left to make this awning. Usually post on my Vintage Trailer Awnings Facebook page, when the awnings are completed. Then they are listed for sale on eBay, by seller dlf1954. I completed a 10' x 8' Eastland Redwood Sunbrella marine grade awning fabric awning yesterday. So, moved on with the 12' Kiawah Spa awning today. Haven't decided what is next in line yet.

Vintage Trailer Awnings 2022 Inventory Underway

Inventory is underway, which means Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi is using up some of their roll ends of Sunbrella to make Inventory Camper Awnings for sale.

Measure the most level section of your c-channel awning rail to be sure it is at least 7 1/2' long, plus measure the opening on the end has a 3/8" diameter for the vinyl welt to slide into.

This 7 1/2' along rail extending forward 8', slides into a c-channel awning rail with a 3/8" diameter opening on the end. Always measure your awning rail, to be sure the most level section is at least 7 1/2' long and the diameter is 3/8" for the awning welt to slide into.

In progress is an almost 8' arched Awning, with shock poles for added height underneath and incline for rain run-off. This will be using Sunbrella Americana marine grade awning fabric. Check back later for more Inventory Awnings For Sale.

Using up a roll end of Sunbrella Americana, so this awning is just shy of 8' along the rail, and extends forward just shy of 7'. There are a few shorter pieces left for a matching Rock Guard Awning and or clip on window awnings. dfoster@bellsouth.net

Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi 2022

 I just started back to work making Inventory Awnings for sale in February 2022.

I post the awning on my Vintage Trailer Awnings by Kristi Facebook page, when an inventory awning is completed. Then, I list the vintage trailer awning on eBay at seller dlf1954, if I don't get a quick response. (Private Message)

It has been an unusually cold season for making vintage trailer awnings in Georgia, since I have an unheated basement workshop. Only have been able to keep the sewing machine running smoothly when the temperatures moderate, even with a space heater.

So far I have made two Hatteras Raven Sunbrella awnings for sale. One is 7 1/2' along the awning rail and extends forward 8+ inches.(Sold) The other vintage trailer awning for sale is 7 1/2' along the rail, and extends forward just shy of 7 1/2'. (SOLD) This was the last of the roll of Sunbrella marine grade awning fabric in this pattern.
